AH BU NEH NEH
Yesterday isn't my day at all. Police case with a customer during work, customer from INDIA. It tend to have customers like tourists because beside the store I'm working, there's a hotel called Excelsior Hotel.
She approached me asking for her Mum's size and she called me to faster because she's taking her flight back to India. Which earlier on in the morning, she also rushed my colleague as she purchased something. So this is the second time she cone back to the store. So I said to her "Sorry mdm, there's no size available for your mum." (Usually I will address tourist as mdm or sir. Just not locals cause I find it weird.)
So her mum and her walked away, to the handbag section. After a while, there's no customers in the store and I was at one corner, arranging those heels. She approached me and said
Indian woman: "Earlier on I brought something from your shop and a girl who served me was very sweet. I came from India and I've never met a girl like you who gave me attitude."
So I replied "If you have any problem with me, go to the counter and complain to my manager, Kate, not me." This time, she raised her voice, so I wanted to walk to the counter to call Kate. She stopped me from walking and said "no no." So I "dash" to the counter and tell Kate about it.
She then walked to the counter too.
From then, we started quarreling at the counter.
Indian woman: ''I will call the police.''
Me: ''My dear, go ahead. I'm not afraid because I've done nothing wrong. There's no proof too. Go ahead, go ahead.''
Indian woman: ''I don't need you to tell me what to do.''
Me: ''I'm not telling you what to do. I'm telling you the fact that you have no proof. So go ahead and call the police, I'm not afraid. Why? Can't take it that I'm telling you the fact?''
Then she shout ''Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!''
Can't help but to laugh because of her reaction and her eyes became huge. Then she began to tell other customers who came from the same country as her that I used Chinese Kungfu to attack her, which I didnt. I had no idea where the bruises on her hand came from. Just like that, the store image was a lil ruined.
She went out of the store to approached those firemen crossing the green light. She thought those are the policemen -_- She even approached those passerby, who ignored her. Somehow, she still managed to call the police. After a while, the head manager, Fion, called me and I explained the whole story to her. She told me to pass the phone to that Indian woman because she wants to speak to her.
End up, the Indian woman said ''I'm not interested to speak to whoever is on the phone. I've called the police and they told me not to talk to anyone.''
Lmfao, no choice so Fion had to head down to Excelsior as she's at Payless Suntec.
Two policemen came, a Chinese and a Malay. The Malay policemen outside the store, asking and jotting down while the Chinese policemen approached me in the store and asked me to explain the story. After explaining everything, the Chinese policemen said that to solve this, I had to apologize to her Mum.
Of course I decline because I did nothing wrong. I have my dignity too. Thanks to the cute ah lian colleague, Su Yee, because all along she have been cheering me up. Like putting her arms around my shoulder and asked ''Ni okay mah, bu yao fang zai xin shang.'' (You alright? Don't take it to heart.)
Which freaking make me want to tear up because working seems really stressful. Worst was when I checked my phone, Mum text me ''Baby Mao, tc always! got mince pork inside the fridge and mushroom in can. i buy the ingredients for you already. go back home from work and cook.''
Had to bear my tears and I could feel lump in my throat. The reason why I feel like crying is because there are times when I don't get to see my parents at all when I got home/go to work because of the timing, stressed out because of the long hours and end up being an ass towards Mum because I'm easily irritated when I'm worn out. Dad even told Mum that I became hardworking. Yes Dad, continue to compare with those Cousins. ''When I’m a Parent, I’ll never compare my kids to other kids, because that shit hurts.''
So the Indian women came back in the store and asked loudly to the another Malay policemen ''This whole thing in India is a criminal case. In singapore is it a crime case?'' And the Malay policemen said ''ya'', which doesn't make any sense. Then the Chinese policemen smile and asked me ''hard to apologise uh? Just apologise then case close.'' I didn't reply him and I was like wtf, why do you want to want me to apologise when I did nothing wrong? After that, that Indian woman and her mum just leave the store.
Before the two policemen leave, they talked to me. They said that if there's CCTV, it would be better as I can prove my innocence. It's up to her if this case will be still open because she might come back to Singapore again. But might be a long time. So whatever it is, this case will be given to the investigator to investigate and we're siding both side of the parties, not one.
So around 8 PM plus, the investigator called me to ask for the whole story. Explained to him and he said ''Aiya, small matter only. Never mind, don't think too much alright.''
Felt so much better after hearing that. Apologise to Fion because she wasted her time coming over to Excelsior. Still, thankful to Su Yee and Kate for cheering me up. Told them that I won't serve Indian customers anymore, it's too scary. Yesterday is the day where I felt so close to Su Yee ♥_♥
And I know this incident will spread like wildfire to other Payless outlet. Standard.
In the past, Mum told me me that people who came from Indian are not ''good'' people because they're very boastful as they're rich in their country. But they have no idea that their race is a common thing to be made fun of. I'm not racist towards this race but after this incident, it made me think otherwise.
